Recently I’ve found two of my projects have overlapped. They maybe merging into each other. I started taking a photograph of the sky each day after taking a photo of the garden, and found that I was also making blue cross stitches that then started to draw from the colours of these photographs.
I’m currently calling these works ‘the view from my garden’. The photographs started with a complete view of the sky – to capture it’s changing mood and colour. Occasionally a branch or leaf would unintentionally reach into the frame, grounding me – the maker and viewer – back in the garden. A little like a finger over the lens appearing in the resulting image.
